Seven hours out of Menorca happily headed to France with fair winds and fair skies
26 Hours after leaving Menorca and 24 hours before a gale, we are in well protected Port Cros
View from Porquerolles harbor.Between here and Port Cros we always found shelter
To our starboard the Mistral is blowing but we are nicely protected from the 35 knots gusts
Boths islands also offer a lot of hiking and biking in beautiful terrain
Looking at mainland France across Porquerolles. After Spain we felt deprived of greenery
The islands are dotted with forts some dating back to Phonecian times
While this resembles the Caribbean, it's only an illusion. . .
No corrals here, but plenty of nice soil and vineyards
Beaches on these islands, which are also national parks, are left in their natural state
A small, very private beach protected from the Mistral
Coming back from the beach Celine taunts me into the chilly water
In they go
Celine did do some complaining. Click for a close up
Cool water and hot sun. . . after 18 months of jumping in at will, this is the last swim
